DeVries, a Monroe County Community College Board trustee and professor emeritus, was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia cancer more than 15 years ago and later was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma.

When life begins to reach its end, the transition becomes about one thing — identity.
