Plymouth High School teacher Ann-Nora Hirami insists she is anything but “a rebel or a rabble-rouser”, but the veteran educator won’t remain silent when the subject of reopening schools pops up.
In a rare public statement made by a school educator during the COVID-19 crisis, Hirami said she feels the health of teachers is being overlooked as plans move forward toward potentially reopening schools sometime in late-summer.
In addition to talking to Hometown Life, Hirami shared her concerns in a letter to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
“I’m wondering how much are they going to ask of teachers once schools are reopened,”
