Martin said 91% of the union members voted yes. A safety strike would mean teachers would agree to teach and work remotely because of safety issues inside buildings. The union stressed in a press release that it is not a work stoppage.

Michigan to identify schools with coronavirus outbreaks. In a couple of weeks. | Bridge Michigan
Michigan’s top health official said Friday the state will release the names of more than a dozen K-12 schools and colleges where there have been confirmed COVID-19 outbreaks.
But she said her office can’t do so for an undetermined number of weeks.
The state first has to cobble together a workaround on its outdated reporting systems — work that begins next week, Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Michigan’s chief medical executive, told Bridge Michigan in an interview late Friday afternoon.

The University of Toledo is asking students who attended recent large social events to follow a 14-day self-quarantine to avoid infecting others after 27 students, including some athletes, tested positive for coronavirus.
